OIL PALM AT WEPPA FARM
The existing 1,300 hectare oil palm plantation will be expanded to 1,500 hectares in 2019. We already have sufficient palms in our nursery to achieve this aim. Once the 1,500 hectare plantation reaches full maturity in 2026, crude oil production will exceed 4,000 M/T. As land is cleared a second oil palm plantation will be created.
CASHEW AT WEPPA FARM
Cashew can be successfully grown on sandy soils which exist on parts of Weppa Farm. As part of the rapid oil palm expansion, cashew is planted when sandy soils are identified.
CITRUS AT WEPPA FARM
The citrus orchard planted in the 1980s has been nurtured to become a high yielding asset. Development of a second orchard in underway and is being expanded as root stock becomes available. Grafting skills are being perfected in the nursery.
