OIL PALM

OIL PALM AT WEPPA FARM

The 1,600 ha palm oil plantation was planted between 2012 and 2020. The majority of the plantation is yet to reach full productive maturity, nonetheless, yields of fresh fruit bunches in 2020 were almost 4,000 M/T. The majority of this was processed to palm oil using the farm's own mill.

The palm oil nursery raises up to 50,000 palms from seed each year. Additional land is currently being cleared and plans are in place to plant a further 250 hectares in 2022. By 2026 another 1,000 hectares will have been planted.

CASHEW AT WEPPA FARM

Cashew can be successfully grown on the sandy soils which exist on parts of Weppa Farm.

Cashew is currently planted on approximately 300 hectares and each year this total increases when tracts of sandy soil are identified, as part of the rapid oil palm expansion.

CITRUS AT WEPPA FARM

The 30 hectare citrus orchard planted in the 1980s has been nurtured to become a high yielding asset.

In 2018, the development of a second orchard started and 16 hectares have already been planted. The plan is for this new orchard to reach 100 hectares within the next three to four years. Our own nursery produces the grafted root stock which are also sold to other farms.
