RICE

RICE AT WEPPA FARM

Weppa Farm contains land highly suited to rice farming. However, rainy season production yields were historically low due to erratic rainfall patterns. In recent years the farm has invested significantly in irrigation infrastructure, which allows for the all year farming of rice.

In 2020 over 350 hectares were farmed with a notable improvement in yield. With further investment, the farm will further increase cultivation and hopes to reactivate the existing 20,000 M/T rice mill, once sufficient rice is grown at the farm and in local communities.

CASSAVA

CASSAVA AT WEPPA FARM

We consistently achieve high yields from our Cassava and currently cultivate 70 hectares per annum. This will be increased as further land is cleared. We have installed cassava processing facilities on the farm and the bulk of what is grown is now processed into High Quality Cassava Flour and fermented cassava flour.

SOYA BEANS

SOYA BEANS AT WEPPA FARM

Soya beans are primarily grown as an alley crop on Weppa Farm, between rows of immature oil palm. As well as providing valuable income, they also help to fix nitrogen in the soil.
