RICE AT WEPPA FARM
The key to farming success is to ensure that yields are maximised. Weppa Farm contains land highly suited to rice farming. In recent years, wet season commercial trials have been conducted and we are now confident of rapid expansion. Additionally, there has been significant investment in the irrigation infrastructure system to allow all year-round farming of rice. Reactivation of the 20,000 M/T rice mill and par-boiling plant is a priority once sufficient rice is grown on the farm.
MAIZE AT WEPPA FARM
Although outside the high yeilding maize belt, maize provides valuable additional income to the farm. Maize can be successfully intercropped with other crops.
CASSAVA AT WEPPA FARM
We consistently achieve high yields from our Cassava. We have now installed cassava processing facilities on the farm and the bulk of what we grow is now processed on the farm.
SOYA BEANS AT WEPPA FARM
Soya beans are primarily grown as an alley crop on Weppa Farm, between rows of immature oil palm. As well as providing valuable income, they also help to fix nitrogen in the soil.
